文様の中には、世界各地で愛され、大変好まれた文様がある。それはテキスタイルの模様だけでなく、陶磁器の文様や建造物の装飾文様として時代と文化、時間と空間を移動し進化を見せ、なお現在も昔と同じように人々から愛され、好まれている文様である。
われわれの研究チームは2002年度、西アジアを発祥とする[ペーズリー文様]の進化をテーマにし、ペルシャ帝国時代の文化を引き継いでいるイランにおいて、気候・風土や宗教、生活文化や環境の中で文様の調査を行い、大きな成果をあげる事が出来た。その過程で、ペーズリー文様と同じ意味を持ち、起源を古代エジプトまで遡る事が出来る文様[命の文様]と遭遇する事になった。
[命の文様]には、進化の過程で、幾つかの文様に分類されるのであるが、その一つに、イスラム文化の中で様式化されその後シルクロードを通って中国に入り、中国文化と出会い進化し、終着駅の日本に到達した[唐草文様]に着目した。[唐草文様]は、シルクロード通過の過程で仏教と出会い、仏教と共に中国に入ったとも言われている。そこで本研究では、シルクロードの広域路上に位置しており、仏教の通過点でもあった敦煙莫高窟に渡航し、中国における古来からの文様と唐草文様の出会いを調査し、シルクロード伝来の影響を「文様」を切り口に研究し、東西文化圏の交流状態の分析を行った。

Among patterns there are some which are appreciated widely in different parts of the world not only in textiles but also in ceramics, architecture and decoration. They developed and changed through time and contact with different cultures but their appreciation has never changed through time.
In 2002, our research team taking over the "Development of the Paisley Motif" as a subject of study, traveled to investigate the climatic and natural features, religion, life and environment of Iran, where the legacy of the Persian Empire still exists, with great achievements.
As a result of these, a following research on the "Tree of Life" was made due to the great similarities in meaning and development with the Paisley motif which origin goes back as far as Ancient Egypt.
The motif of the "Tree of Life" can be classified into different varied motifs. One of these, entered China through the Silk Road already influenced and transformed by the Islamic culture and arrived finally to Japan as the Arabesque motif. It is said that Arabesques encountered Buddhism, too, through its way to China through the Silk Road.
As our research focuses mainly on the vast area covered by the Silk Road, we took a journey to the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang, an important gateway of Buddhism and examined the Chinese early motifs which played a great influence on the early Arabesques. Our aim is the analysis of the cultural relations along the vast network of the Silk Road through their influences they made on motifs.

2004年短期海外研究の目的のひとつとして、現代ファッションデザインに見られる「アンチ・エレガンス」とも言えるデザイン動向を一時的な現象として捉えず、20世紀のファッションデザイン史における革新的デザインの中にその類型を見いだし、時代背景と美的規範の変化の推移についての調査を行った。本稿では、20世紀初頭、ファッションにおいて革新的デザインを提示したポール・ポワレの衣装の構造の中に現れた美的規範の変化について調査した内容の報告を行う。

販売という場は、学生の制作物を「作品」から「商品」へと変える。「商品」となった「作品」には、消費者ニーズを満たしていることが求められ、売れるか売れないかでその価値が判断される。消費者ニーズという価値基準には、その時々の時代性や社会性が反映されており、それらを学生が個々に熟考することは、彼らのクリエーティビティを普段とは違った角度から刺激し、作品の意味あいを深め強化すると期待される。
以上のことから、研究の実施にあたり、販売を短期集中で体験し多くの人の反応や意見に直接触れることができる展示販売会、「デザイン・フェスタ」への参加を企画した。自分の出品したものが、来場者の共感をいかに獲得し、どのように買われていくのかということを学生自身が実感し、それをどのように次の創作にフィードバックするか。本研究は、販売という場が学生に与える影響と効果を、デザイン教育の観点から考察する。

The situation of selling changes the creations of students from 'works' to 'merchandise'. The 'works' which have become 'merchandise' have to satisfy the needs of consumers, and depending on how they sell, their value is determined. The standard of value such as consumer needs reflects the trend of time and society at any given time. When students think them over carefully and individually, their creativity is stimulated from a different or unordinary angle and it is expected that such stimulation deepens and strengthens the meaning of their works.
From the above, in carrying out our study, we planned and took part in ‘Design Fests' an exhibition and sale where selling is experienced intensively in a short time and where the reaction and opinion of many people can be directly seen and heard.
Students themselves can feel how their works exhibited are approved by the visitors, how they are selling, and how they should feed back the knowledge to the next creation.
This study considers the influence and the effect the situation of selling gives to the students from a design education point of view.

本稿は、デザイン教育における「環境」をキーワードとした実習授業を実践するため、2002年および2003年神戸芸術工科大学共同研究において「再利用のデザインに関する研究」を行った。本研究における調査では、再利用可能な素材を発見するため、家具および皮革関連メーカーなどに出向き素材の収集を行った。教育の実践では、研究期間中にプロダクトデザイン学科およびファッションデザイン学科おいて7例の実習授業を行うことができた。また、教育の実践を公表するために本学ギャラリーにおいて、担当教員および学生の作品展示を行った。以上一連の研究を報告する。

The result of investigation and educational practice "Environment" in the design education to be a key word, Kobe Design University joint research, both in 2002 and 2003 on the "Research on the Design of Recycling project" was reported. The collection of recycling material was investigated through furniture and leather manufactory. During the research of educational practice, seven type of examples was found.
Department of Product Design project and Department of Fashion and Textile Design project. All these work were exhibited in gallery of Kobe Design University.

本稿は、2001年度より神戸芸術工科大学が都市再生機構から受託し、事業協力者として継続的に携わっている、神戸「ガーデンシティ舞多聞」みついけプロジェクトに関する報告である。(図0-1、2)
本稿は、昨年度(2004年度)の神戸芸術工科大学の紀要に掲載された「新・田園都市の実験-神戸「ガーデンシティ舞多聞」みついけプロジェクト-」(執筆代表者 齊木崇人)の内容を引き継いでいる。昨年度は、(1)本プロジェクトの主要なコンセプトである「新・田園都市構想」の礎となったイギリスの「田園都市思想」と、その実践の場となった世界初の田園都市「レッチワース」、(2)「田園都市思想」と「レッチワース」の持続可能性に着目し、2001年に開催された「新・田園都市国際会議」とその成果物である「新・田園都市構想」、(3)「新・田園都市構想」を基本理念に計画された「ガーデンシティ舞多聞」のマスタープランと「みついけプロジェクト」の実施計画策定、(4)「みついけプロジェクト」のコミュニティづくりの仕掛け(アンケート、公開講座、ワークショップ、グループ募集)とその実践、(5)以後の展開、についての報告を行った。
今年度は、入居予定者決定までの経緯(コミュニティづくり)、住宅プランの個別ヒアリング(住まいづくり)、2006年春の宅地引渡しまで行われるコミュニティワークショップ(ルールづくり)についての報告を行う。

This paper is a report of Garden City MAITAMON, MITSUIKE Project in Kobe in which Kobe Design University takes charge from Urban Renaissance Agency, and is continuously engaged as an enterprise cooperator from the 2001 fiscal year. This paper has succeeded the contents of the "New Garden City Project; Garden City MAITAMON, MITSUIKE Project in Kobe" written in the bulletin of Kobe Design University in the year 2004.
The report about the following topics was referred in the last fiscal year.
1. About "Garden City Concepts" which became the foundation of the "New Garden City Concepts" which is the main concepts of this project, and the world's first Garden City "Letchworth" in Britain.
2."New Garden City International Conference" held in 2001 paying attention to the sustainability of "Garden City Concepts" and "Letchworth", and the "New Garden City Concepts" which is the fruits of the conference.
3. The master plan of "Garden City MAITAMON" planned by the basic idea in the "New Garden City Concepts", and the enforcement planned decision of MITSUIKE Project".
4. The mechanism and the practice of community architecture (a questionnaire, open class, workshop, group collection) in case of MITSUIKE Project.
5. Future plan.
In the current fiscal year, the report about the circumstances to prospective tenant determination (community design), the individual hearing of housing plan (housing design), and the community workshop which will be performed for the regulation design until the moment of the housing site delivery of the spring of 2006, are referred.

東北地方の歴史的街並みにおける保存・整備の現状と課題

我々は2004年8月に、いずれも蔵の町として知られる福島県喜多方市南町通り地区と宮城県柴田郡村田町村田地区をフィールドとして、町屋の建築年代及び用途を中心に調査した。そして、両地区では過去にも街並み調査が行われているため、その時点から現在までの変化を分析し、各々の街並みが抱える問題点と課題を考察した。その結果、両地区とも、1. 建築の用途変化の大半は、店舗が閉店して住居などを経て空き家・空地へと変化するプロセスであり、街並みの衰退を反映していると考えられること
2. 蔵はほとんどが残されているものの、それ以外の歴史的建造物の価値や、街並みの連続性の価値については十分に認識されておらず、破壊が進んでいること
が、明らかになった。今後に向けて、空き家となった歴史的建造物の新たな活用法を模索することや、蔵以外の建物を積極的に評価し、価値を共有するための工夫が求められる。

In August 2004, we made a field survey on historical districts in Minamimachi-dori area in Kitakata City, Fukushima Prefecture and Murata area in Murata Town, Miyagi Prefecture. In this survey, we mainly made researches for the ages of the buildings and how to use them. Through the researches for these two areas, the following facts are revealed in both areas.
1. Most changes of uses for the buildings shows us a kind of declining sign, such as closing shops or changing into vacant houses and lands.
2. They maintained most of all the Kura-buildings, but they didn't have enough interests in other types of historical buildings and continuous views of the historical areas. And then, many historical buildings (except Kura-buildings) were destroyed in these areas.
For the future, it's very important to find out solutions for these problems.

本報では、「ガーデンシティ舞多聞みついけプロジェクト」の計画理念に基づいて実施した「エコロジカル・デザイン」に関するケーススタディについて述べる。報告する環境共生住宅は、今ある自然資源のストックを評価して進める住宅地開発の手法の一つである。このような環境への取り組みにおいては、異なる専門性の共同のあり方もまた、一つの課題だといえる。本報ではこうした問題意識から、異なる専門性の共同作業における方法論を、1)自然資源の可視化可能なものの共有と、2)居住者の「生態学的環境」への配慮、の2点から検討した。
具体的には、新規開発プロジェクト「ガーデンシティ舞多聞」の第1期エリアである「舞多聞みついけゾーン」を対象に現地調査を実施し、その結果を踏まえ、エコロジカル・ネットワークを構想した。これは、住宅地全体を横断するコリドーと個別の住宅敷地における6つの住宅の建築デザインの提案からなる。

In this paper, we report a case study of ecological houses in "Garden City MAITAMON - MITSUIKE Project".
Ecological House is one method of development of residential area, which includes the process of evaluating natural resources and designing with nature. And, we think, this method involves a difficult theme, "How different specialties can be able to work together?" So, in this case study, we discussed the way of cooperation from next two points. One is how to share our knowledge about nature, and the other is how we can describe the Ecological Environment of residents. Based on the discussion, we investigated the MITSUIKE Zone, which is a part of Garden City MAITAMON, and made a conception of Ecological Network, which consists of three corridors passing through this residential area and 6 houses designed with nature.
